Our project was to design a 3D printing space for a Liberal Arts University.
Designing for a Liberal Arts University was a challenge because, unlike an engineering or architectural university, a Liberal Arts University cannot easily integrate 3D printing and digital fabrication into their curriculum.
We presented a broader vision, what we called a TechnologyDesign Studio.
The Technology Design Studio (TDS) is a unique environment where students and faculty can immerse themselves in cutting-edge skills and emerging technologies. Centered around 3D Printing and Digital Fabrication, the space provides a specialized venue for multi-media exhibitions, presentations, and special events. In recognizing the importance of combining design with technology, the studio reflects the school's tradition of enabling students through technology and creative collaboration.
