When Mark Deadrick, an engineer and president of 3Dyn walked into an Indianapolis veterinarian office and saw little TurboRoo, a Chihuahua puppy with a birth defect resulting in two stubs instead of front legs, he got to work designing a cart to help the little guy get around easier.
He modeled and printed a prototype cart on a MakerBot Replicator 3D printer in about 4 hours. He added skateboard wheels and shipped it off to TurboRoo.
The puppy is waiting on his third cart now, which has been substantially improved since the first iteration, and is getting used to his newfound mobility.
