After a dramatic encounter in a hospital following a bicycle accident, Lyman Connor, GE Engineer and Technologist, decided to use 3D printing to construct a bionic hand.

While standing in the hospital elevator, Connor who was joking about scars in his face, encountered a young man who replied to Connor’s jokes by saying that “at least you (Connor) were born with a whole hand.”

This prompted Connor to start working on an affordable hand using 3D printing. Now Connor is looking for the same man in order to help him.

If you have relevant information about the young man, please contact Connor at lyman.connor1@gmail.com.
